Q: How do users log into the SilkCloud MedApps application?
A: Upon subscribing to SilkCloud’s MedApps, you will receive a link via email with your temporary User name and password. Then log on to the system and away you go.
Q: Where is my information stored?
A: Your patient data is stored in a “cloud” which is to say that the data is stored securely in a data center that is supported and maintained 24/7. Further the data (your patient information) is encrypted at the database level, providing an additional layer of confidence that your patient’s private medical information is kept safely.
Q: What is cloud Computing
A: Through Cloud Computing, SilkCloud Users avoid large capital expenditures for hardware and data base software; by paying only for the services they utilize with little or no upfront costs. Cloud providers sell their services, many times in the form of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS – as in the case of SilkCloud MedApps). Benefits of this approach includes, low barrier to entry (implementation of the service), low infrastructure costs, low management overhead, and access to a broad range of applications which are continually updated and supported by the Cloud software provider. Thereby, avoiding costly return on investment risk and uncertainty.
Q: What is Software-as-a-Services (SaaS)?

Q: What if one of our PCs in our examining rooms crashes, will we loose our patient data?
A: Not a problem! Since all the patient information is stored via the Internet in a dedicated repository, all you need to do is log in using a different PC or Tablet PC.
Q: Do I need to backup any data related to SilkCloud MedApps?
A: Nope, that’s one of the many advantages of Cloud computing

Q: What about my historical patient data like paper records, charts etc.?
A: SilkCloud offers a unique service to import all your “paper” records into the system. We’ll pick up your boxes of records (utilizing SAS 70 Type II compliance) and within a few days (depending on how many patient files) we’ll have all your paper records converted to digital form for immediate access by you and your staff.
Q: I like what I’ve seen so far, how do I get an onsite demo of the product?

Q: Will SilkCloud MedApps work with any Tablet PC?
A: Yes. SilkCloud is optimized to use with any Tablet PC, Desktop, Laptop PC or Mac, across all the major browsers (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Fire Fox, Safari).
Q: What about WiFi access, can we us a Tablet PC with a broadband access card?
A: Yes, and this is perhaps one of the best ways to utilize the system with 100% mobility.
Q: Do I have to be at my office to access my patient’s information?
A: No. You can access SilkCloud MedApps via any browser from any location 24 hours a day 7 days a week – with a valid user name and password.
